WIDE RANGE OF ACTIVITIES OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM



Extra-curricular timetable: We offer a wide range of extracurricular opportunities which are inclusive for all students.

Mini-School Competition: All students have the chance to represent their Mini-School in a variety of sporting and academic competitions throughout the year. Competing in these events earn points for your Mini-School, with the winning Mini-School being announced after Sports Day on the final week of term!

Kingsbury School Sports Partnership: Students have the opportunity to represent the Academy and compete in a range of sports competitions, with the chance to progress to regional finals!

School teams: KS3 Netball and football teams available for students to be selected for and represent the Academy against local schools.



DEDICATED STAFF TEAM PROMOTING FITNESS FOR ALL



KS3 students have two PE lessons per week & follow a diverse timetable of activities throughout the year. During the year they will cover 7 different activities, each for 6-weeks.

Timetabled activities in PE include: Rugby, handball, netball, basketball, football, trampolining, table tennis, badminton, rounders, cricket, athletics, dance & fitness!

All students in Y7-9 will experience ’GCSE’ style theory lessons to begin to learn about some of the topics covered in GCSE PE.



REWARD PROGRAMME FOR STUDENTS PARTICIPATING



Students participating in extra-curricular clubs and competing in Mini-School events or Academy fixtures gain points towards earning rewards—such as sports equipment, positive points and rewards days! Sports

SENIOR ACADEMY



KS4 students study GCSE PE which includes:

Two written exams on ‘Fitness & body systems’ and ‘Health & performance’ and a practical assessment in three sporting activities.

A final piece of written coursework on the effectiveness of a fitness training programme is then completed.

GCSE PE students also have the opportunity to go on a number of trips, including:

  • Outward bound residential - Ogwen/Aberdovey
  • Redpoint Climbing Centre
  • Sports fixtures & competitions
