APPLICATION OF MULTIPLE SKILLSETS IN THE CLASSROOM

We intend to take the pupils on an expedition that will provide them with the best experience of learning mathematics. They will enjoy, engage and equip themselves with skills that will allow them to be tenacious and resilient in tackling the ever changing modern world we live in. They will confidently demonstrate their ability to apply multiple skills and be able to adapt to different and unexpected challenges. We prepare them for the next stages of their education.

FOUNDATION ACADEMY

The Key Stage 3 curriculum enables students in years 7, 8 and 9 to build on aspects of Mathematics covered at Key Stage 2. Students explore topics including; Number, Algebra, Shape and Statistics, through a mastery approach enabling them to extract a conceptual understanding of Mathematics. A resource-based curriculum allows for an enjoyable and accessible experience for students at all levels. Students will have an end of topic review test (ETR) at the end of each topic studied, a milestone test at the end of each term and an exam at the end of each year.

SENIOR ACADEMY

At KS4, students study for the full 2 Year GCSE course which is through Edexcel. Topics include Ratio, Geometry, Algebra and Statistics.

The A-Level is a two year linear course, where students’ will sit three equally weighted papers in June of their second year.
